Dum De Dum De Dum (Drumming Fingers and Twiddling Thumbs)

I went to Knit Night tonight and left early because I have to be at our yard sale at 7:00ish tomorrow morning. The special at The Sow's Ear was a Harvest Latte. Well, as luck would have it, I LUVS me a Harvest Latte, so I had Ben The Barista make me one big enough so that I could actually sit on the side of swimming pool-sized mug and hang my feet in if I wanted to. I didn't consider the fact that one of the main ingredients in it is espresso. So now I'm home and all jacked up on caffeine with nary a sandman in sight. I feel like I'm on fast forward and I'm sure the poor ladies that were subjected to me at The Ear this evening thought so too! I was talking reallyreallyfastandloudly because I can't hear in a crowd and therefore think no one can hear me either. My throat actually hurts. Clearly the espresso was clouding my judgement. I'm pretty sure all of this classifies as a drinking problem. I'll have to check in the the Juan Valdez Rehab Center to dry out before I'm going to get a moment of shut eye... or be invited to sit with Jen and Elizabeth at Knit Night again!

Here is a shot of the two cable hats I made for The Ear. One more to go before I'm done with this stinkin' skein of white. Booooorrrrrriiiiiinnnnggggg....

And here is a gratuitous shot of the Fearless Heron Hound, keeping a sharp eye out for gangly-legged feathered intruders from the safety of his living room.

[Aren't I handsome? Why I hardly look like the dork I truly am in this photo. All of those stories she tells about me are lies I tell you! Lies!]

Well, maybe I'll toddle off and read some. I'm reading The Lace Reader which is AWESOME and you should definitely check it out. It's a novel about a family of women in Mass. who see the future in pieces of lace. The only problem with this plan is that it's a REALLY GOOD book which means it won't make me sleepy and I'll read all night. I ought to be good and ready to drift off by yard sale time tomorrow. Oy Vey! Which means I'll have to stop at the filling station and get a ginormous coffee so I can make it though the day....You can see where this vicious cycle is headed, can'tcha? Hello my name is Molly Bee and I'm a caffeine junkie....Darn you 'Pusher Ben' and your delicious Harvest Lattes!

The war on drugs should have a task force on espresso!

You know, that Harvest Latte woulda tasted just as good in a decaf; REALLY! I do it all the time! Handsome hound, that scaredy-cat is.

Michelle beat me to it -- though what was she doing up at 1:07 am without caffeine anyway? -- yeah, yeah, I know, it's a different time zone there!
Anyway, AS I WAS SAYING: or going to say:
I have One Word for you (actually three): Decaf Harvest Latte! Not a sign of weakness, just good sense! Beth has to drive 45 minutes to Jefferson, some people have immunity to it, I swear, but for most of us, that much caffeine & good company has predictable effects....
Caffeine is the number one psychoactive compound used in this country and in the world. Think of that! (And why yes, I've already had my share this morning, as I got boxes over to my parents' garage sale before work!)

I missed you at Knit Night - I was off wallowing in "Odd Wisconsin" (yes we DO have a sizeable quantity of ODD in Wisconsin) but I heard you were Pretty Energetic! I followed Bethie's recommendation and had the apple cider heavily laced with caramel (don't you just LOVE Benthebarista?) I'm going to try some of that Harvest Latte though - bet I can finish the Dr Who in an afternoon!

I was just thinking I needed a little caffeine boost... it's 12:30 here, so, what 10:30 there? How's your sale going? I feel like if things haven't all sold within the first hour or so I'm ready to mark it all down to get it gone. But not everybody gets up at 6 am to hit the yard sales... Hope you're all sorts of caffeinated for the event.

I think your cable hats are great!
I do need my dose of caffeine, but in tea ;)

I was a little hoarse, too, by the time I left. You were not yelling or particularly hyped up. (Maybe it's worse if I tell you always act like that?)

I believe what you're describing "hair of the dog" and it's a big red alert to folks in treatment circles. ;)

Good luck with the yard sale.

I love those hats! Of course, I'm all about the cables these days...but for some reason, those white aran looking hats just look so neat to me right now!

I hope your yard sale went well! Get a good night's sleep tonight!!

Awww, Mz. Bee, we love ya even if you're hopped up on caffeine! ;o) Besides, what's the point of an awesome coffee drink if you don't get the one big enough to swim in??

I hope the garage sale went well and that things are more peaceful and settled down from here on out!

I don't do coffee, but you're making me crave hot spiced apple cider. Thanks! ;-) The hats look great and Mr. Ben looks adorable. Have a great weekend!

I have this image of the Heron Hound standing behind the counter dispensing latte? Yah, I know, different Ben....

Hope you sale went well, and that you have cleared the caffine out of your system by now :)

I have a hat that matches those! I think they are so fun to make. Hope you got some sleep and hope the sale goes smoothly!!

I can see why he wanted to protect his gorgeous self! He is a beauty!
What would we do if we couldn't have our coffee/latte fixes, eh? Certainly NOT boring, but perhaps more subdued......somehow that doesn't seem like a natural state for you. :)
