Sailor's Delight and A Walk on the Tide Side

Red sky at night, sailor's delight. The weatherman says that today is supposed to be the last day for a while that is hotter than the surface of the sun. I'm holding him to it. I know where he works if it turns out to be in the muggy 90°s again and I have to drive over there and find him and 'work it out'. The sunset seems to be backing him up tonight so we'll see. I'm ready for the cool crisp days of autumn. Have been since June actually.




I started knitting up some of my Socks That Rock yarn last night. The colorway is called "A Walk on the Tide Side". It's got a bit of just about every color in the spectrum in it. It was a little dark when I took the photos tonight. I'll wait for more light when I take a photo of the finished sock. The pattern is a cool one from my new favorite book "101 One Skein Wonders". It's a slip stitch rib pattern that really makes the different colors pop.

I am counting down the days until Saturday's Sheep and Wool Festival in Jefferson! How many opportunities does one get to watch border collies work, smooch and hug sheep (all the while 'thanking them' heart-felt-edly for the yarn. That's the part that REALLY embarrasses Mr. Bee) and buy woolie goodies all in one swell foop!?! Looks like Christmas is comin' early for Molly Bee! So if you see me be sure and say 'hi'. I'll be the short lady (with the tall hubby) laden with packages and covered with hay and sheep schmutz but smiling from ear to ear!

I have "101 One Skein Wonders" it's one of my favorite also. the socks you're knitting, are they the ones on page 180? i have those socks on my list.

Just got a comment on my last blog entry reminding me that Monday is actually the last day of November, not today. So I have TWO more entries to complete NaBloPoMo; today and TOMORROW. How sad would that have been...to blow the whole thing because I can't read a calendar? I just figured, hey, December is coming next week, might's well start it out first thing on Monday! Lots of New Tangle Pattern Ideas!

I've been setting aside tangles that I've created in a special file in my cabinet. When I put one in last night, I realized that I had quite a stockpile and that I hadn't put only of them out there for others to try...so here they all are. I'm not good at stepouts or at naming. Most of them are named after placed in Maine...just because. I'd love to see any tangles that you've done that use any of these patterns! Have fun and tangle on!

Wicked Wonderful Weekend

 I had a really nice weekend. I didn't expect to since I had both my Covid booster and my flu shot  on Thursday afternoon. My first of the original two Covid shots put me under the weather for about 24 hours...but I just got a headache from this one and that's about it. And since I get headaches anyway, who knows if it was from the shots or not? At any rate, I was prepared for a stay-at-home-lay-about weekend.  Life is what happens when you are making other plans.  Since I decided Friday Night that I guess I wasn't going to be incapacitated after all, I arranged to go with friend, Donna to Baraboo to the Arts and Crafts Festival. It was really nice and way bigger than I thought it would be. Baraboo is where Ringling Brothers started so there were also circus-y things all over town. So much fun! After the Fair we went to lunch at a little breakfast place and then headed to one of my fav spots, Pewett's Nest, to see the gorge and waterfall. Then we stopped at Sky Hi Apple
