Boo Boo Ben!!!

Ben says to tell you he's fine. He had surgery yesterday to repair a torn ACL. He had to stay at the vet overnight which was traumatizing for both of us, but I got to go get him at 9:30 this morning and he is home resting comfortably now. The surgery went well-no surprises or complications. He has a shiny new plate in his knee which will make just breezing through airport security a thing of the past when he goes on his world tours, but sacrifices had to be made. I'm working from home today to keep an eye on him. We're having lunch right now and then it's back to the coal mines for me and back to recuperating on his new dog bed for him!

( Here are some post op pics. The site looks really good, but I will make the pics small so you can avoid them better if you are squeamish. If you are a science/med geek like me, just click on them to biggify.)

Ben really DID have a boo-boo! I hope he heals up fast and doesn't damage anything else!

Glad that you were able to have things taken care of so quickly! I pity the boy when it starts becoming "itchy" as the fur grows back. I'm sure Mom will make special treats for him while he recovers? Correct????

So Ben's 2010 Give-Me-A-Dog-Treat-And-I'll-Woof-You-A-Song World Tour has been postponed? Darn, and we had tickets...

The first thing I thought when I saw these pics was "plucked chicken leg," but I didn't want the poor convalescent to think I was poking fun at him. I glad you said it though...I don't feel quite so bad.

Hope he has a speedy recovery and is back to his big goofy self soon!

Honestly? I thought about him (and you) last night; my heart is happy seeeing that he's home by his mama. (And...thanks for the small pic; I'm of the "not-inclined-to-biggify-but-thanks-for-asking" school.)

My word is "endyblys" - there's a kid story in there, I can feel it.

Oh, I'm so glad the problem was identified and fixed. Hope the recuperation goes smoothly and well.
Poor feller. So far he isn't enjoying his recovery. I can tell by the ear position. (Let me know if you need any other translating done.) The first day after surgery is horrendous. He needs lots of styrofoam glasses of water with plenty of ice and a bendy straw.

He'll be up and causing trouble again soon. And you're right. Totally looks like a chicken leg. Feel better soon, Mr. Ben! (and good luck taking care of the invalid, Mr. Ben's Nurse!)
