Diva Challenge #106: "The Year of the Snake"

I'm working tonight but took a much needed 15 minute break to doodle this week's Diva challenge...to tangles something representative of 2013: Year of the Snake, in honor of Chinese New Year. I wish I had more time to spend on this one. I can think of all kinds of ways to use snakey lines, but alas this will have to do for now.

Speaking of her Diva-ness, Laura Harms, I entered a contest on her blog last week and won a Tangle A Day Calendar! First Neil Burley and now this?!?!? The Tangle Gods are surely shining on me this last couple of weeks. Thanks again Laura for the special treat!

Back to the salt mines!

Congratulations on winning the calendar and my your luck continue. I think your snake this week will be the longest in this weeks Challenge when he becomes unravelled.

Your tile is beautiful. I love how you have wrapped him (or her) around the frame. Congratulations on your first win in the year of the snake. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. They really are interesting when complete.

Love it! I love the movement of the snake around the border, and especially that in some places he winds around lots where others it's loosely wrapped. Very nice. :)

Just got a comment on my last blog entry reminding me that Monday is actually the last day of November, not today. So I have TWO more entries to complete NaBloPoMo; today and TOMORROW. How sad would that have been...to blow the whole thing because I can't read a calendar? I just figured, hey, December is coming next week, might's well start it out first thing on Monday! Lots of New Tangle Pattern Ideas!

I've been setting aside tangles that I've created in a special file in my cabinet. When I put one in last night, I realized that I had quite a stockpile and that I hadn't put only of them out there for others to try...so here they all are. I'm not good at stepouts or at naming. Most of them are named after placed in Maine...just because. I'd love to see any tangles that you've done that use any of these patterns! Have fun and tangle on!

Wicked Wonderful Weekend

 I had a really nice weekend. I didn't expect to since I had both my Covid booster and my flu shot  on Thursday afternoon. My first of the original two Covid shots put me under the weather for about 24 hours...but I just got a headache from this one and that's about it. And since I get headaches anyway, who knows if it was from the shots or not? At any rate, I was prepared for a stay-at-home-lay-about weekend.  Life is what happens when you are making other plans.  Since I decided Friday Night that I guess I wasn't going to be incapacitated after all, I arranged to go with friend, Donna to Baraboo to the Arts and Crafts Festival. It was really nice and way bigger than I thought it would be. Baraboo is where Ringling Brothers started so there were also circus-y things all over town. So much fun! After the Fair we went to lunch at a little breakfast place and then headed to one of my fav spots, Pewett's Nest, to see the gorge and waterfall. Then we stopped at Sky Hi Apple
