Hometown Parade

I moseyed on down to the Ear on Sunday. It was "Knit In Public Day" and they reserved all of their front lawn for knitters who wanted to watch the HomeTown Festival parade.

There were bagpipers. I LOVES me a man in a kilt.

... and this guy. This is Katie's son Cole. He's rocking this season's Cub Scout look with panache! Note the scarf undone a la Arrowsmith, and the shades!
Who cares if you're in the middle of a parade? A photo op is a photo op! Glad the kid behind him didn't run over him!

It was a great parade and though it was overcast, the rain held off until about 10 minutes after the parade was over. We Hoggenbloggers went inside The Ear and knit the afternoon away while the rain pattered outside. Perfect way to spend a Sunday!

Oooohhh! Big dogs in a parade! Sure beats all the firetrucks blaring their sirens at the ends of our parades.

I am MOST delighted that you took pictures........being as I got there at 1:00, thinking that was when it started. As YOU (and the rest o' the Hoggenbloggers) knew, it started at noon. Oh well, there'll be next year. And having the "afterparty" inside was worth the trip. It was NO kinda wasted time.

Just got a comment on my last blog entry reminding me that Monday is actually the last day of November, not today. So I have TWO more entries to complete NaBloPoMo; today and TOMORROW. How sad would that have been...to blow the whole thing because I can't read a calendar? I just figured, hey, December is coming next week, might's well start it out first thing on Monday! Lots of New Tangle Pattern Ideas!

I've been setting aside tangles that I've created in a special file in my cabinet. When I put one in last night, I realized that I had quite a stockpile and that I hadn't put only of them out there for others to try...so here they all are. I'm not good at stepouts or at naming. Most of them are named after placed in Maine...just because. I'd love to see any tangles that you've done that use any of these patterns! Have fun and tangle on!

Wicked Wonderful Weekend

 I had a really nice weekend. I didn't expect to since I had both my Covid booster and my flu shot  on Thursday afternoon. My first of the original two Covid shots put me under the weather for about 24 hours...but I just got a headache from this one and that's about it. And since I get headaches anyway, who knows if it was from the shots or not? At any rate, I was prepared for a stay-at-home-lay-about weekend.  Life is what happens when you are making other plans.  Since I decided Friday Night that I guess I wasn't going to be incapacitated after all, I arranged to go with friend, Donna to Baraboo to the Arts and Crafts Festival. It was really nice and way bigger than I thought it would be. Baraboo is where Ringling Brothers started so there were also circus-y things all over town. So much fun! After the Fair we went to lunch at a little breakfast place and then headed to one of my fav spots, Pewett's Nest, to see the gorge and waterfall. Then we stopped at Sky Hi Ap...
