Diva Challenge: Use New Tangle Arukas!

Yesterday was a long, difficult day so I was pleased as punch to sit down with a couple of tiles and work on the Diva's Challenge for this week. Laura is back after a short sabbatical and her tangle this week was to use the newest Zentangle pattern 'Arukas', designed by Molly Hollibaugh. (See below.) A clever person at our Zentangle Artist's Coalition meeting realized that 'Arukas' is 'Sakura' (the name of the pens we use to Zentangle) backwards!

This tangle has lots of possibilities. I made it BIG in the first tile. 


And smaller in the second tile. 


I wish I had doodled at the table like I usually do, but I was hunkered in the fetal position in the corner of my cozy nest with my snugglie woobie due to an excruciating Monday, so my lines are a lot wonkier than I'd like, but I LOVE the new pattern!

Both of these tiles are great! Great contrast in the first. Awesome little scene in the second!

Both are great. The first one looks to me like a church window (glas in stain) with beautiful colors because the sun is shining outside. And the second one is so organic, a beautiful garden with a Arukas Sun in the sky.

The first one is so grand ...like it is embracing outerspace. And the second one is so cozy and homey with it's organic influenced tangles...wonderful creations!

Just got a comment on my last blog entry reminding me that Monday is actually the last day of November, not today. So I have TWO more entries to complete NaBloPoMo; today and TOMORROW. Lots of New Tangle Pattern Ideas!

I've been setting aside tangles that I've created in a special file in my cabinet. When I put one in last night, I realized that I had quite a stockpile and that I hadn't put only of them out there for others to try...so here they all are. I'm not good at stepouts or at naming. Most of them are named after placed in Maine...just because. I'd love to see any tangles that you've done that use any of these patterns! Have fun and tangle on!

Wicked Wonderful Weekend

 I had a really nice weekend. I didn't expect to since I had both my Covid booster and my flu shot  on Thursday afternoon. My first of the original two Covid shots put me under the weather for about 24 hours...but I just got a headache from this one and that's about it. And since I get headaches anyway, who knows if it was from the shots or not? At any rate, I was prepared for a stay-at-home-lay-about weekend.  Life is what happens when you are making other plans.  Since I decided Friday Night that I guess I wasn't going to be incapacitated after all, I arranged to go with friend, Donna to Baraboo to the Arts and Crafts Festival. It was really nice and way bigger than I thought it would be. Baraboo is where Ringling Brothers started so there were also circus-y things all over town. So much fun! After the Fair we went to lunch at a little breakfast place and then headed to one of my fav spots, Pewett's Nest, to see the gorge and waterfall. Then we stopped at Sky Hi Ap...
