Diva Challenge: No Strings Attached

This week's Diva Challenge was to create a tangle without putting down a string first. Fortuitously, I worked on this all weekend and it started without a string.  I did a few spiral designs, then added starfish and sand dollars and filled the background in with the rock and seashell pattern. It's  called 'Cockles and Mussels' and was created by the fabulous Margaret Bremner.  It is one of my go-to designs.

I suppose it's kind of a cheat to submit something you did 3 days BEFORE you knew what the challenge would be, but so be it. Maybe I have precognitive abilities (or ESPN as my 5 year old nephew used to say)! Whoa! Yet another superpower!

That's beautiful! Through your shading, those sea beauties appear to be at different depth. BTW, love your slip of keyboard in Cockles&MusCLes :D

Don't think it matters when you did it unless you were always pulling things out from years ago. Glad you decided to post this. Like all the tangles in the background.

Love the colors and the theme, and don't think it should matter when you made it as long as it was recently. I suspect we have all done similar posts if we work on lots of tangles. So glad you showed it to us.

Just got a comment on my last blog entry reminding me that Monday is actually the last day of November, not today. So I have TWO more entries to complete NaBloPoMo; today and TOMORROW. How sad would that have been...to blow the whole thing because I can't read a calendar? I just figured, hey, December is coming next week, might's well start it out first thing on Monday! Lots of New Tangle Pattern Ideas!

I've been setting aside tangles that I've created in a special file in my cabinet. When I put one in last night, I realized that I had quite a stockpile and that I hadn't put only of them out there for others to try...so here they all are. I'm not good at stepouts or at naming. Most of them are named after placed in Maine...just because. I'd love to see any tangles that you've done that use any of these patterns! Have fun and tangle on!

Wicked Wonderful Weekend

 I had a really nice weekend. I didn't expect to since I had both my Covid booster and my flu shot  on Thursday afternoon. My first of the original two Covid shots put me under the weather for about 24 hours...but I just got a headache from this one and that's about it. And since I get headaches anyway, who knows if it was from the shots or not? At any rate, I was prepared for a stay-at-home-lay-about weekend.  Life is what happens when you are making other plans.  Since I decided Friday Night that I guess I wasn't going to be incapacitated after all, I arranged to go with friend, Donna to Baraboo to the Arts and Crafts Festival. It was really nice and way bigger than I thought it would be. Baraboo is where Ringling Brothers started so there were also circus-y things all over town. So much fun! After the Fair we went to lunch at a little breakfast place and then headed to one of my fav spots, Pewett's Nest, to see the gorge and waterfall. Then we stopped at Sky Hi Ap...
