Just because I know how to run the camera doesn't mean I should. Sorry for yet another sucky photo but here is the socks-in-progress picture that I promised!

Hmm I love the idea behind this website, very unique. »
I've been setting aside tangles that I've created in a special file in my cabinet. When I put one in last night, I realized that I had quite a stockpile and that I hadn't put only of them out there for others to try...so here they all are. I'm not good at stepouts or at naming. Most of them are named after placed in Maine...just because. I'd love to see any tangles that you've done that use any of these patterns! Have fun and tangle on!
There was a perfect storm this long Thanksgiving weekend; a bunch of tangle artists with extra time on their hands discovered several 'Jewel' tutorials that started popping up in Facebook Groups last week...Voila! There was a 'jewel storm' on the boards all weekend long, and the results were amazing! I had such a good time looking at everyone else's work, that you know I had to try it myself! I suspect this is exactly what caused the storm!
While I love color, I'm not very good with it... but I gave it the old college try. I drew a bunch of circles and just started trying the different techniques and color combinations. I'm still not satisfied. I have wicked 'jewel envy' from looking at other's work, but it was fun.

Practice Sheet Two:Sakura shadow technique (Note-paper was two thin and it totally warped) Practice Sheet Three:Trying to throw an odd color in every now and then.

Have you tried Jewels yet?…
This week's Diva Challenge is to do a monotangle with N'Zeppel. It's one of my go-to tangles. I love it so much that I did the poster sized version a while back and it hangs in my living room, so I'm cheating and submitting it as the challenge piece for this week.
The subtext of the challenge was to think about a time that you 'didn't fit it'. When I was making this piece, I was going through a crisis in my life that made me feel very, very alone. The mindlessness of this pattern soothed me and calmed the mind monkeys for a few minutes every day. It's a piece that looks complicated but is, in fact, very simple. Here's a link to my progress if you are interested.
